Dům pro Julii (House for Juliet)
A partnership project between the Statutory City of Brno (applicant) and Dům pro Julii, z. ú. (partner).
Project location: Brno, cadastral areas Sadová, parcels 27/1, 28;
Lesná, parcels 686/1, 739/6
Project implementation period: May 2022 – December 2023
Expected project costs: CZK 186,976,660.60
Allocated project subsidy: CZK 92,117,646.90
Subsidy share: 49.3%
The project aims to expand the infrastructure of social services in the Brno Metropolitan Area through the construction of new facilities for residential and field respite services. These services will be part of the newly emerging complex of the children's hospice Dům pro Julii. Respite services will be provided to children, adolescents, and young adults up to the age of 26 with reduced self-sufficiency due to chronic illness or health impairment, usually cared for by a close person.
With grant funds, social facilities for direct work, activation and relaxation activities, operation, employees, and common areas of the children's hospice will be built. The health care part of the hospice will be constructed from the applicant's own resources. Beyond the project activities, the partner Dům pro Julii, z. ú., will furnish the building with the necessary furniture and equipment to make it suitable for operation.

Networking of Providers of Social and Health Services for Families with Seriously Ill Children and the Development of Interdisciplinary Cooperation
Implementation Period: 1.1. 2023 - 31.12.2023

The project focuses on networking providers of social and health services for children and adolescents with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses and establishing interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of health and social services.
The project will be implemented through participation in conferences for professionals and establishing collaboration with service providers. As part of the project, a database of services for families with children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses will be created to ensure comprehensive care.

Sensory and Compensatory Aids for Loan to Clients of the Field Relief Service and Home Care of the House for Juliet
Implementation period: 1.11.2022-30.4.2023

The purpose of the project is to enable families with children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses to borrow and try compensatory and sensory-motor aids to which they do not have access. Care workers will train parents in working with aids. The aids will be loaned so that families can try out which aids are suitable and beneficial for their children. Social workers will also provide advice on the potential purchase of aids.
The project is supported by the ČEZ Foundation.
Education of the Multidisciplinary team of Domu pro Julii, z.ú.
Implementation Period: 1.6.-22.12.2022
Project Registration number: JHM NZ22/52648
The project focuses on the development of the organization through the education and professional internships of the multidisciplinary team of the organization House for Julie, z.ú. The team consists of direct care staff and organizational workers, and their education has a secondary impact on improving the quality of services provided.
What courses were we able to attend thanks to the project?
Our caregivers attended courses focusing on palliative care (Introduction to Pediatric Palliative Care I and II) and completed a professional internship at the organization Cesta domů. They also took courses in Artificial Lung Ventilation, Elnec Core - Basic Course in Palliative and Hospice Care, and Perinatal Loss.
Administrative staff expanded their knowledge in the areas of communication, fundraising, marketing, and project management.

"Just a Parent for a while" - Informational campaign on the needs of informal caregivers
Implementation period: 1.7. - 30.11.2022
Project Registration number: JMK076802/22/OSV
The information campaign is focused on raising awareness among the general public about the issues faced by informal caregivers. As part of the project, a video spot was created as a teaser for a lecture series that aimed to present the everyday life of informal caregivers and the challenges of caring for children with complex needs.
